Chapter 35 part 2
Lin Li walked up to him, looking puzzled, and asked, "What were you doing with my phone?"
Zhou Han handed the phone back to her and said frankly, "I answered a call while you were away."
"Who was it?" Lin Li reached out to take it and unlocked the screen to check the call log, only to hear Zhou Han say, "Cheng Xiang."
Her hand, poised over the phone, froze instantly; she stood there blankly for a long moment, unable to react.
Zhou Han took in her expression and said coolly, "If you were thinking of calling back..."
"I have no intention of calling back." Lin Li cut him off immediately. "Why would I? I said I was going to forget that person!"
Zhou Han smiled at her and said, "I just wanted to tell you that if you *did* want to call back—well, I'm sorry, but I deleted the call record."
Lin Li was stunned for a moment. "If you deleted the record, why did you even tell me he called?"
Zhou Han shrugged. "I deleted it so you wouldn't foolishly call him back later."
Lin Li rolled her eyes at him, slipped her phone into her pocket, and grabbed her bag from the table. "You're not exactly a genius yourself; if you find Xiao Bin's mom so annoying, why did you answer her call?" She walked toward the elevator as she spoke.
Zhou Han was taken aback, then smiled and followed her. "Have you noticed? It’s like we both take pleasure in picking at each other's old wounds now."
"That's *you*, don't drag me into it." Lin Li rolled her eyes again and stepped into the elevator. "I'm not that twisted."
"I've certainly taken my fair share of stabs from you, too." Zhou Han followed her into the elevator and pressed the button for their floor.
Lin Li didn't reply; she just glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, a faint smile playing on her lips. It is actually quite interesting when you think about it; just as he said, they shared similar experiences—neither was really any better off than the other.
In fact, it was precisely because of those unpleasant pasts that they could instantly see the pain in each other's eyes—and speak with such cutting insight that there was nowhere left to hide.

Without even turning around, Lin Li shot back, "I'm not crazy," and promptly stepped inside, closing the door behind her.
Standing at the doorway, Zhou Han gazed at the firmly shut door, a look of deep, inscrutable meaning in his smile.
Inside the room, Lin Li took off her coat and headed straight for the bathroom without even grabbing her pajamas; she was absolutely exhausted and just wanted a nice shower before collapsing into bed.
After a quick shower, she emerged wrapped only in a bath towel. She froze when she opened the wardrobe—it was completely empty. She suddenly remembered that, under her mother's supervision the night before, she had packed up all her clothes and belongings and moved them into Zhou Han's room—leaving not a single piece of sleepwear behind!
Her drowsiness and fatigue vanished instantly, replaced by a feeling of near-despair. Looking down at her state of undress and then at the empty wardrobe, Lin Li stomped her feet in frustration.
Meanwhile, Zhou Han had finished his shower and was drying his dripping wet hair with a towel. He glanced toward the door every now and then, a sly smile playing on his lips.
When his hair was half-dry, the knock he had anticipated still hadn't come. Frowning slightly, he muttered to himself, "Did she just go straight to sleep?"
He moved to open the door and check, only to find Lin Li standing right there, clutching her towel with one hand covering her chest and the other holding the bottom edge—looking utterly insecure.
Zhou Han was momentarily taken aback, then a smile spread across his face. He looked her up and down before slowly asking, "Did you need something?"
Lin Li felt awkward under his gaze; clutching the towel to cover herself, she felt incredibly vulnerable. In truth, she had been hesitating outside for quite a while, feeling too embarrassed to knock. Seeing her blushing, embarrassed look, the smile on Zhou Han’s face deepened.
He deliberately asked, "Did you need something? Or were you planning to sleep on the floor at my place again tonight?"
Lin Li glared at him and stated firmly, "You're doing this on purpose!"
Zhou Han feigned innocence. "Doing what on purpose?"
Lin Li had no time for banter; she wanted nothing more than to crawl into a hole and hide—though preferably while fully clothed!
Without a second thought, she pushed him aside with one hand and headed straight for the walk-in closet; she didn't even bother looking, simply grabbing some clothes and hurrying out.
Zhou Han couldn't help but burst out laughing.

TN: These two kids 😏
Not sure why the author split this chapter to 2 parts, anyway, I release them at the same time since they're short. Enjoy~
